We are now accepting applications for limited spots for the 2018-2019 school year.  If you are interested in submitting an application for either our school or full-day homeschool program, please review the information on this page and contact us with any questions.

 

We are looking for students who would be comfortable in a flexible, collaborative environment.  Our flexible age groups and opportunities for self-directed learning make us a particularly popular option for gifted students: however, we aim to build a neurodiverse community of children who enjoy learning.  

If you are interested in learning more about the Athenaeum Learning Center, or in submitting an application, please contact us to set up a time to come visit.  Children are welcome to attend this preliminary visit, and usually join their class during the tour.  After your visit, we require students applying to attend our Elementary and Middle School programs, and strongly encourage students applying to our Forest School, to come spend an entire day with us.  At this point, we ask families to submit their application.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and you will hear our decision within a few weeks

Admissions Process
for Full Time and Full Day Homeschooled Students

We are now accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year.  If you are interested in submitting an application for either our school or full-day homeschool program, please review the following information, and contact us with any questions.

Application and registration steps for new families:
  1. Call or email us to set up a tour of the school.  This tour will take about 30 minutes, and will give families an opportunity to ask any questions about our program.

  2. If possible, please arrange for your child to come spend a full day with us, participating in the full daily experience of our program.  This is optional for Forest School Students.  Students applying over the summer may come participate in a day of our vacation programming.  Please bring a Class Enrollment form, filled out with emergency contact information and any other information we should know to appropriately care for your child that day.  You can write "day visit" as the class, and there is no charge.

  3.  Review our 2018-19 School Year Calendar, and our Student & Family Handbook.

  4. Fill out and submit our Application Form (opens as a PDF).

If your child is accepted to our programs, you will need to submit the following by August 1st:

  1. A one-time $50 family registration fee

  2. A Health Record form.  Your child's doctor probably provides one at your child's annual well-visit.  Otherwise, please ask them to fill out ours (opens as a PDF).

  3. Three copies, signed in ink, of our Outdoor Waiver (opens as a PDF).

Re-registration for returning students:

Families of currently enrolled students may re-register for the next year by following these steps:

By February 15th:

  1. Fill out and submit our re-registration form (opens as a PDF).

By August 1st:

  1. A Health Record form.  Your child's doctor probably provides one at your child's annual well-visit.  Otherwise, please ask them to fill out ours (opens as a PDF).

  2. Three copies, signed in ink, of our Outdoor Waiver (opens as a PDF).
