Upper Elementary and Middle School Chinese Teacher

We are expanding our Chinese program!  There are now too many classes for one instructor, so we are looking for a second Chinese teacher who can teach our 3rd-8th grade students.  These students will have class 2-3 times a week.  We are also looking for a Chinese teacher who can help supervise lunch and recess, encouraging the students to speak in Chinese and giving informal, conversational lessons to interested students during this period.  The hours for this position would be 12:00-2:00, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of additional hours some days between 11:00 and 12:00

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and teaching a comprehensive Mandarin Chinese program to grade and level based classes of 3-8 students.  Work with our full time Chinese teacher to select curricular materials.

  • Assigning and grading homework, as necessary.

  • Completing mid-term and end-of-term grades.

  • Being available twice a year for parent-teacher conferences.

  • Limited, reasonable, availability to help students and parents who might need extra help or support.

Salary and benefits:

  • Salary is $25/hour, and you will be paid an extra hour for every two teaching hours to support your planning and grading.

  • Your children (aged 4-12) can attend any programs while you are teaching, and are eligible for discounts for our other programming.

Kindergarten Art, Music, and Movement Specialists

We are looking for specialists in art, music, and movement to come teach our Forest Kindergarten one morning a week, between 10:30-12:00.  These classes would preferably be held outdoors.  This would be a contract position, and you would be responsible for curriculum, teaching, and providing any specialized materials beyond the general art, music, recess, and movement supplies that we have on hand.
