The Athenaeum Learning Center's unique private school/homeschooling hybrid allows us to offer families the option to register for a single day of our programming at a time. Whether your child's school has a day off, or you're a homeschooling family who needs a day of childcare, we can provide your child with a fun, safe, enriching day in our programs.
Our Forest School is for students from 4-6 years, and our elementary and middle school program is for students from 1st-8th grade. Forest School students will spend most of their day outdoors, but all of our students have at least two recesses each day. Older students will play and learn in our maker space, building and creating.
Your child will need to bring:
A nut-free morning snack and lunch. If they are staying for aftercare, please send them with an additional afternoon snack.
A water bottle.
Outerwear appropriate for the day's weather. Our students go outside every day. If there is any chance that the ground is wet or cold, please send them with snow pants and boots: even elementary and middle school students! Your older child might balk at this, but trust us: they will be happy they are bundled up and warm when they're playing in our forest.
Times and Fees
Our school day runs from 8:30-3:00. Children may be dropped off anytime after 8:25am, but must be picked up promptly at 3:00, unless they are staying for aftercare.
Daily rate: $75
Stay for our after school programs, until 5:30pm, for an additional $20
After-school programming is available until 5:30, for $20 a day. After school programming is both indoors and outdoors, and may involve crafts and games, playing Minecraft (on our internal servers), watching a movie, or other quiet activities.
Download our Class Registration Form, and send it to us by mail or email. If you are emailing this form, please make sure to save it to your computer after filling out, and attach the saved version to your email.
We will also need a completed Health Record Form. Please note that many doctors have their own health record form, usually given to parents after annual checkups, and copy of that form is sufficient for our records.
