Why should the learning stop just because school's on break? The Athenaeum Learning Center offers a variety of vacation programs in the spring and summer.
Our Vacation Programs are weekly or multi-week, full-day programs, with after-care available until 5:30, that offer children the opportunity to learn and play in the company of friends, and on our unique Pembroke campus. Our indoor classroom space includes a large library, maker space, music, and art areas, and our Outdoor Classroom contains over two acres of field and forest, including a new organic vegetable garden!
All are taught by our full time staff of professional teachers, and emphasize STEAM fun. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Students work on age and developmentally appropriate projects, play outdoors every day, hear from exciting visiting educators, and have a lot of fun!
Times and Fees
In general our vacation program day runs from 9:00-3:00. Children may be dropped off anytime after 8:30am, but must be picked up promptly at 3:00, unless they are staying for aftercare. During March Vacation, before-care is available from 7:30.
FOREST Power: $275 a week
BRIDGE and STEAM Power: $325 a week
Summer Term BRIDGE and STEAM Power: $1350 for each 4-week session
After-care is available until 5:30, for $20 a day. Aftercare is both indoors and outdoors, and may involve crafts and games, playing Minecraft (on our internal servers), watching a movie, or other quiet activities.
Families may register for single days of camp. The cost for that is $65 for FOREST Power, and $75 per day for BRIDGE and STEAM Power.
Financial aid and payment plans are available.
To register for our Forest School Vacation Program, download our Vacation Registration Form, and send it to us by mail or email. If you are emailing this form, please make sure to save it to your computer after filling out, and attach the saved version to your email.
To register for STEM Cell's Robotics classes, please visit the STEM Cell Robotics website.
We will also need a completed Health Record Form. Please note that many doctors have their own health record form, usually given to parents after annual checkups, and copy of that form is sufficient for our records.
Spring Vacation Programs
We ofter one week vacation programs over our February and April spring vacation weeks, and two weeks of vacation programming in March that coincides with the spring breaks of some area private schools.
Summer Vacation Programs
Our summer vacation programs include two four-week sessions that incorporate academic enrichment and tutoring into our fun, active programming, and ten weeks of themed programming. Students play and learn indoors and out, using a variety of tools and technology, and always have fun!
